A Message From Buzz

When people ask why I created EDCBuzz, the honest answer is simple—I couldn't find the kind of resource I wanted to use myself.

Most websites in the everyday carry space seem to fall into one of two extremes. On one side are the sites that focus almost entirely on expensive gear, limited editions, and collector pieces. They're interesting to browse, but they often leave everyday buyers wondering whether any of those products actually make sense for their lives. On the other side are websites that chase search traffic by publishing endless "Top 10" lists with very little explanation of why one product is better than another.

Neither approach ever felt particularly useful to me. When someone is trying to buy a flashlight, they usually don't need fifty product links. They need someone to explain the difference between beam patterns, battery types, runtime, and how those features affect the way they'll actually use the light. The same is true for knives, wallets, watches, pens, sunglasses, and every other category we cover. Understanding why something works is far more valuable than memorizing a list of specifications.

That philosophy became the foundation of EDCBuzz. I wanted to build a website that teaches first and recommends second. A place where someone can spend fifteen minutes learning about a category, understand the trade-offs between different options, and feel confident making a purchase instead of hoping they guessed correctly.

That doesn't mean everyone needs premium gear. One of the things you'll notice throughout this site is that I have no problem recommending budget-friendly products when they genuinely offer the best value. Sometimes spending twice as much buys you meaningful improvements in materials, durability, or long-term reliability. Other times it simply buys a recognizable logo. Part of my job is helping readers understand that difference.
